We are seeking to recruit an experienced professional in the operational risk and internal controls, in the role of the Deputy Head of the Operational Risk and Permanent Control department.

Job Description:

Supporting the Head in overseeing, managing and running the implementation of the Operational Risk and Permanent Control framework across a broad spectrum of business lines with a particular focus on the Banking operations aspects within the aim to manage and mitigate the potential operational risks

Main responsibilities:

  • Assist the Head of the function in ensuring proper application and compliance of the Operational Risk function’s activities with the relevant regulatory framework, as well as management models pertaining to operational risk.
  • Assesses relevant risks in any new product, process,  service, system, before its implementation, aiming to assure timely mitigation of operational risks
  • Assist the Head of the Operational Risk function in running the implementation of the annual Risk and Control Self-Assessment Process (RCSA), and of the Permanent Control Plan.
  • Managing the continuous improvement of the permanent control framework, including proposal of improvements in operational processes and internal controls, as well as effective follow up through their implementation
  • Proposing and monitoring key risk indicators, as well as evaluating the Bank’s exposure to operational risk through such measurements, including herein also the incidents by the Bank’s functional units
     

Formal Criteria on Experience:

  • Good knowledge of the regulatory framework on Operational Risk Management, as well as management models pertaining to operational risk
  • Solid experience in process understanding, identification of key risks, design of internal controls through a cost-benefit analysis, as well as testing of the operating effectiveness of controls.
  • Experience in running and executing the RCSA process.
  • Solid experience with the functionality and the characteristics of the banking products and bank operations.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in operational risk management, internal controls or similar function within the banking industry / financial services.
